Modernizing Payments Settlement Engines: CurrencyNet Leads the Way

CurrencyNet is at the forefront of modernizing payment systems, as highlighted in our recent participation in the prestigious Payment Systems Broadcast hosted by FNA. During this insightful session, CurrencyNet CEO Animesh Ghosh joined BIS Toronto Centre Head, Baltazar Rodríguez, to discuss the critical challenges central banks face in upgrading their payment settlement infrastructures.

Animesh shared valuable insights on the complexities involved in transitioning from legacy systems to scalable, future-ready platforms. Central banks globally face increased transaction volumes, stringent security requirements, and the urgent need for interoperability across diverse payment networks. To meet these challenges, CurrencyNet developed FuSSE—the Fully Scalable Settlement Engine—in collaboration with the Bank for International Settlements (BIS).

FuSSE represents a revolutionary leap, employing quantum-safe encryption, event-driven architecture, and unmatched scalability, capable of handling over 10,000 transactions per second on commodity hardware. Animesh emphasized how CurrencyNet leverages its deep domain expertise, ensuring seamless migration, minimal disruption, and maximum efficiency.

We were delighted to share the virtual stage with Baltazar Rodríguez, whose perspectives complemented our commitment to innovation and collaboration. At CurrencyNet, we’re proud to partner with central banks, driving payment modernization that meets today’s needs and anticipates tomorrow’s challenges.
